I have lived in Qualicum Beach for over 43 years and have been a cabinet maker for most of those years.
For 25 years, I ran my own cabinet shop, located near the Qualicum Airport. During that time I specialized in custom wood kitchen cabinets, wood windows and solid entry doors. In 1999 I lost the shop to fire and have since spent the time working for contractors, doing on site finish, trim and built in cabinet work. In that time span, I have worked for Island Straits (2 yrs) and Todsen Design & Construction (8 yrs), both located in Qualicum Beach. As well, I worked for a 2 1/2 years in Glazier Developments cabinet shop (STS Cabinets), located in Coombs.
I have all of the hand tools, electrical hand tools and stationary tools to build any of the work shown on this website. In fact almost all of this work shown was built on site, without the resources of a fully equipped cabinet shop. I am very familiar with cabinetry and mill work and am competent with using all of the machines typically found in a cabinet shop, such as table saw, cutoff saw, jointer, planer, shaper, lathe and such. I can do from interior paint-grade trim finishing, to high end, one off, solid wood cabinetry and anything in between.
In addition to my cabinet work, I volunteer for several organizations. As a hiker, skier and mountaineer, I belong to the Alpine Club of Canada and the Federation of Mountain Clubs of BC and do volunteer work for both organizations. In addition, I have sat on the RDN Parks & Trails Committee and the Board of Directors for the Mt Arrowsmith Biosphere Reserve Foundation
